Dan Evangelista – Vice President
A proud Vietnam and Desert Storm veteran, Command Sergeant Major (Ret.) served with distinction in the 7th Squadron, 17th Air Cavalry during the Vietnam War (1967–1968), and later with the 118th Military Police Battalion, Rhode Island Army National Guard during Operation Desert Storm (1990–1991).
A lifelong advocate for veterans, he has dedicated decades to supporting service members and their families. From 1974 to 2003, he played a vital role in the Vietnam Era Veterans Association, and continued his service through the Rhode Island Department of Human Services’ Division of Veterans Affairs until his retirement in 2015.
Since 2014, he has proudly served as Vice President of Rhode Island Military Organizations (RIMO), Senior Benefits Counselor, and Senior Advisor to the Military Lounge. He continues to make an impact as a Veterans Benefits Counselor with Operation Stand Down Rhode Island (2016–present).
He is an active member of several veterans organizations, including the Vietnam Veterans of America (VVA), and is deeply committed to uplifting the veteran community in Rhode Island and beyond.
He is married to JoAnn Simmons.
